We loved the location, the property was spacious and comfortable with lovely little finishing touches. It smelled clean and fresh and was perfect for our family of four. The view on the balcony was stunning, perfect for morning coffee!
Beautiful property in a great location - the hosts had obviously put a lot of thought into the design without compromising on comfort and functionality. Jo was super kind and helpful - even pointing out a cultural event at the cathedral which we shouldn’t miss. She was also very responsive to any query. Definitely one of the best B&B stays we have ever had!
The property is in an ideal location literally five minutes from the centre of Durham. It overlooks the river, the cathedral, the castle and various collegiate buildings which are stunning! The quality of the Hideaway is exactly what you expect from a holiday let which is ultimately up against and is as good as, if not better than some high-end hotels in the area. The cleanliness, the organisation, the design and facilities, (including onsite parking which is a huge bonus) within this property are of the highest quality and standard and my family and I felt very comfortable during the course of our weekend. Would not hesitate to rebook.
Oh my goodness, the Hideaway was really lovely! It was beautifully furnished and located in the perfect spot to explore Durham. Just a stone’s throw away from the city centre, it was super convenient. Everything was thought out to perfection, and the coffee machine and wine were a real treat. The hosts, Jo and Chris, were so helpful and gave us the best recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants. I can’t recommend the Hideaway enough!
Jo is super friendly when we asked if we may leave our luggage there before the check-in hour. The place is super cozy, clean, spacious and surrounded by the greens in the backside of a vibrant area. Just 5 minutes away from all the pubs restaurants and 10 minutes away from the castle and cathedral, actually you can see them even among the trees from the balcony. Jo spent a lot of effort on the interior so we enjoyed looking at the decorations in the house. Absolutely enjoy the stay there.
Had a wonderful stay here for the week in Durham. Such a beautiful apartment - open, clean and modern with lovely design touches. The patio was the perfect place to relax with a morning coffee and the view of the cathedral on a crisp fall day. It was well stocked with our immediate needs and the location was quiet but still central with easy access to everywhere we needed in the city. Jo made us feel welcome and comfortable and was so helpful with a couple packages we needed delivered during our stay. We’ll be back to Durham regularly and would love to stay here again.
Absolutely loved our stay. Jo and Chris could not have been better hosts. The accommodation was perfectly located, extremely well appointed, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Felt like we were being hosted by the closest of friends. We will try to stay again, (if the hideaway is available!) next time we return to Durham. Thank you Jo and Chris.
This was the perfect end to our holiday and a true hidden gem in Durham, so close to everything but so peaceful and lovely to sit on the patio and listen to the birds and look up at the majestic cathedral. Jo and Chris were so friendly and the apartment was amazing, so airy and clean with all you needed, even fully stocked tea and coffee pods, milk in the fridge and biscuits to go with your coffee. The apartment was fully modernised to high quality with super fast wifi, Alexa, lights all labelled and loved the mood lighting in the bath. The beds were super comfy and perfect for our family stay for the night. Thank you both for your hospitality - we will definitely be back!!!!
